Tim Hudak

Partner, Counsel Public Affairs

Tim Hudak is a Partner at Counsel Public Affairs and one of Ontario’s most recognized voices on the intersection of housing, real estate and public policy. He served for more than seven years as CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), Canada’s largest provincial professional association, representing almost 100,000 REALTORS® across the province. Under Tim’s leadership, OREA became one of the most influential advocacy organizations, advancing consumer protection and championing home ownership. He was recognized by Swanepoel Power 200 as one of the most powerful people in North American residential real estate for five consecutive years.

Earlier in his career, Tim served for 21 years as a Member of Provincial Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. At Queen’s Park, Tim shaped provincial decisions affecting housing, infrastructure and affordability. As Minister of Consumer and Business Services, he introduced legislation to modernize Ontario’s real estate regulatory framework. He later continued to advise the province as a member of Ontario’s Housing Affordability Task Force.

Today, Tim draws on that combined political and sector experience to help organizations advance leadership, advocacy and public affairs goals, particularly on housing, growth, and community building. Tim splits his time between Toronto and Niagara with his wife Deb Hutton and their daughters, Miller, and Maitland, and finds his clarity on trails less taken — on a mountain bike, in his hiking shoes, or cooking outdoors.
