Sarah Cipkar is Founder & CEO of Resimate Inc., Canada's first backyard home marketplace that helps property owners discover the potential for detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in their own backyards. In 2020, Sarah built her own 430sqft backyard home in Windsor, ON, which has informed all of her work in helping homeowners and policymakers alike. As a two-time Housing Supply Challenge recipient, she currently leads a national team of experts dedicated to ADU and residential infill development, overseeing complex land-use policy analysis and zoning interpretation to drive project success. She is also a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography & Planning at the University of Toronto, researching how ADUs are changing the housing landscape across Canada at a micro and macro scale.
Sarah is a community-driven developer, researcher, and consultant, and she is passionate about helping people and places reach their full potential. With the belief that technology and people are the key to success, Sarah provides guidance and support for developing backyard homes - from idea to reality. She currently lives in Windsor, ON with her energetic daughter and olde English bulldog, but often travels throughout Ontario to see Resimate's ADU & multiplex projects come to life!
