WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A CORNERSTONE DIRECTOR?

I want to continue serving as a Cornerstone Director because I care deeply about how decisions at the board level impact REALTORS® in their day-to-day business. As members become more aware of and involved in how organized real estate operates, governance can sometimes feel disconnected from the realities those members face, and I want to help bridge that gap.

I bring a strong sense of accountability, a willingness to ask tough questions, and a practical approach to decision-making. My background has taught me how to work within structured systems while still advocating for meaningful change when it is needed.

As a Director, I will continue to focus on transparency, member value, and ensuring that decisions are made with both short-term impact and long-term sustainability in mind. I am not afraid to speak up, but I am equally committed to collaboration and moving the organization forward in a productive way.

NON-REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE

Community Leadership & Advocacy – 10+ years – Volunteer Leader & Organizer

  • Led and participated in community-based initiatives focused on advocacy, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. Organized events, collaborated with diverse groups, and contributed to policy discussions impacting local communities. This experience strengthened my ability to represent diverse perspectives, build consensus, and lead with integrity.

Amateur Sport Governance & Officiating – 10+ years – Hockey Referee & Team Representative

  • Developed strong governance and leadership skills through long-term involvement in organized hockey as both a referee and team representative. Officiating required quick, unbiased decision-making and the ability to enforce rules consistently under pressure while managing conflict in emotionally charged situations.

In team representation roles, I engaged with league bylaws, policies, and organizational structures, advocating on behalf of teams while ensuring compliance with governing bodies. This experience enhanced my ability to navigate complex rule frameworks, balance stakeholder interests, and contribute effectively within structured organizations.

Logistics & Operations – 1 year – Warehouse Associate (Order Picking/Packing)

  • Experience in high-volume logistics operations focused on accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established systems and processes. Responsible for fulfilling orders within tight timelines while maintaining quality control standards.

This role developed my ability to work within structured systems, identify inefficiencies, and understand how small errors can impact broader organizational outcomes. It also reinforced the importance of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.

Non-Real Estate Board & Volunteer Experience

  • I have not focused my time outside of organized real estate in a director role to date - but I have been asked to serve on a local sports association & the local SPCA board. Understanding the demands of a position like that and the energy I would want to contribute to the role, I decided not to pursue those seats until after my time with organized real estate.
