WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A CORNERSTONE DIRECTOR?

I am interested in serving as a Director because I see the Board as the place where complex industry issues are translated into clear direction, with a focus on long-term outcomes for the membership.

Through my involvement with Cornerstone’s Government Relations Committee, I have seen how policy discussions, particularly around housing affordability and financing, can remain at a high level unless they are grounded in practical implications. That experience reinforced the importance of approaching these issues with structure and a focus on outcomes.

My background in statistics, finance, and private capital has shaped how I approach decision-making. I am accustomed to working with incomplete information, assessing risk, and evaluating trade-offs in a disciplined way, particularly where financial and real-world impacts intersect. I believe that perspective is relevant at the Board level, where decisions require both analytical thinking and judgment.

In terms of contribution, I would support sound governance by helping frame issues clearly, identifying key risks and implications, and contributing to informed, evidence-based decision-making.

I would also approach the role with a clear understanding of governance boundaries; that is, focusing on strategic direction and oversight rather than operational involvement.

Ultimately, my goal would be to contribute in a way that supports thoughtful decision-making and helps position the Association to adapt effectively to ongoing changes in the industry for the benefit of its members.
