Cornerstone Association of REALTORS® Donates $37,505 to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region

REGION OF WATERLOO, ON (December 5, 2025) – The Cornerstone Association of REALTORS® (Cornerstone) kicked off their second Charity Golf Tournament on September 11, 2025. Thanks to the contributions of attendees, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and the community, the tournament successfully raised a total of $37,505 for Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region (Habitat).

REALTORS® were excited to come together for a meaningful cause and spend a day on the course. To create additional opportunities for donations to a sold-out tournament, Cornerstone held an online auction that raised over $6,300

Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to building safe and affordable homes, recognizing that a stable place to call home is the foundation for a better life and better economy. This commitment strengthens families, creates opportunities, and fuels thriving communities. It is through these efforts that Habitat is making homeownership attainable for more families, ensuring that everyone has access to a decent place to live.

REALTORS® have a proud and long history of supporting Habitat. Habitat has been building homes in the Waterloo Region for over 35 years helping 140+ families in the Waterloo Region. With the help of REALTORS® actively participating in various projects through Build Days, they get hands-on experience helping build homes in our community.

With the 45-home Kehl Street project now completed, current projects include homes for larger families on St. George Street in Kitchener and 24 stacked townhomes being built in a developer-led project by Activa, on Shantz Hill in Cambridge.

Their “BUILD NOW: Waterloo Region” project aiming to bring 10,000 new affordable and attainable homes by 2030, will feature a range of housing types and affordability levels, supporting individuals, families, seniors, and newcomers. Construction is set to begin in early 2026.

“Our longtime partnership with the Cornerstone Association of REALTORS means the world to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region. To all who supported this year’s golf tournament, thank you,” said Philip Mill, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region.” Your generosity strengthens the work we’re doing across Waterloo Region, including the important progress underway at Shantz Hill. Together, Cornerstone and our community of supporters are helping bring the dream of homeownership closer for local families."

Cornerstone is eager to see the progress of these new projects and takes pride in supporting this important work.
