Cornerstone Events: Fostering Engagement and Community

During our first year as Cornerstone, we sponsored local events, hosted seasonal gatherings, and celebrated community involvement. These events not only showcased our local communities but also built meaningful relationships and fostered connections.

Notable Events Throughout the Year

Kyle Christie with Member Engagement Committee Chair Michelle DeGroot

Connecting members to diverse communities—from fall fairs to festivals, from teeing off to celebrating trophies—Cornerstone is dedicated to fostering engagement and unity. By bringing together members from all regions, we strengthen our communities and cultivate a deeper sense of belonging for everyone involved.

Cornerstone sponsored the Norfolk County Fair, a tradition and staple in Norfolk County (and surrounding areas), which not only provides entertainment for the entire family but also plays a vital role in ensuring access to healthy and affordable food by supporting the sustainability of these food sources.

Cornerstone welcomed members to our annual Winter Wonders at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Over 1,500 guests enjoyed a stunning, illuminated landscape filled with twinkling lights and festive displays.

The evening featured Santa, the Grinch, and a variety of performers, including musicians and caricature artists. As members wandered through the enchanting scenes, cheerful music filled the air, and the inviting scent of seasonal treats encouraged everyone to indulge. It was a memorable evening that beautifully captured the spirit of the season and our community.

This event recognized four individuals who made a profound impact on enhancing the quality of life in Mississauga, including two dedicated community volunteers and two dedicated first responders.
